Save Money in the Car

Obey Traffic Laws and Speed Limits   Email this article to a friend.  Add to Favorites.         Save on Delicious.

You would think it's obvious. Speeding tickets and other traffic citations cost drivers a lot of money. But year after year, drivers rack up the fines and drive up the cost of their insurance premiums by exceeding posted speed limits and breaking other traffic laws.

Estimates vary, but a single speeding ticket can easily carry a fine of about $150.00. And if that weren't bad enough, that same ticket will most likely increase your car insurance premium to the tune of $100 to $500 over the next 3 to 5 years.

A bit harder to quantify, but perhaps even more expensive is the cost of accidents resulting from irresponsible driving. Even if your car is worth only a few hundred dollars, the chances are strong that your accident will either involve another car of perhaps greater monetary value or that you and other people may be injured, which then entails the incredibly high cost of health care to treat those injuries. And then there is the likelihood of ensuing law suits, and lawyers fees and so on...

For your own good and the benefit of others, please obey the speed limit and drive responsibly.

Bottom Line:

Save $100.00 or more per year.*
(*Individual results will vary. Calculations based on avoiding a single $100 speeding ticket each year.)
